Rexnord Industries

The Melink Corporation developed, integrated and, with support from U.S. Bancorp and Union Bank & Trust, now operates a 3.1 MW ground-mounted array on Rexnord Industries property. The array is connected to Indianapolis Power & Light Company’s (IPL) distribution system, making it part of the largest solar photovoltaic (PV) program for an investor owned utility in the Midwest. Construction began in January 2014 and the system was commissioned in April 2014.

Located on a 13 acre Brownfield site in Indianapolis, Indiana, the array consists of 12,040 solar photovoltaic modules and is estimated to produce approximately 4.3 million kWh per year. The system supports Rexnord initiatives to be a good environmental steward.

Melink will be selling the energy, capacity and green attributes to IPL via a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 15 years. The site is being leased from Rexnord for 15 years. After the initial 15 year PPA term and lease agreement have expired, Melink will work with IPL and Rexnord to continue to sell the energy, capacity and green attributes and operate the system for another 10 to 15 years.
