Top-Rated Cincinnati Solar Panel Installer

As a leading commercial solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm in the Midwest, we’re committed to helping business owners cut operating expenses, showcase their commitment to the environment, protect themselves from fluctuating utility prices, and increase their property values. And, if your Greater Cincinnati business is considering shifting to solar energy, you are in the perfect location. Thanks to our weather, arrays in the Midwest can produce abundant solar energy. In fact, Columbus, Ohio, receives 2.1% more sunshine than Miami, Florida, during the summer months! And for eight months of the year, Columbus receives 92% of the sunshine Miami receives!

Plus, several solar incentives and rebates are available in the Tri-State area:

OHIO: Laws in Ohio favor solar power. The state has a Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) that requires utilities to increase their sale of renewable energy sources to 8.5% by 2026. While this RPS figure is not set as high as some other states, it is still a win for renewable energy. Additionally, there is a sales tax exemption for solar materials, simplified interconnection standards, and a property tax exemption for commercial properties. Ohio is also a net metering state, which means it credits solar array owners for adding energy to the grid.

KENTUCKY: Energy costs in Kentucky are usually less than the national average, making renewable energy adoption slow. However, Kentucky is slowly beginning to offer incentives to install solar power. Interested businesses have options ranging from loans and leases to power purchase agreements, there are many options that Melink Solar can help you navigate.

INDIANA: Indiana’s laws generally favor solar power. The state offers a renewable energy property tax exemption that exempts the value of the system from commercial property taxes, and many of the components are exempt from sales tax. Indiana has a net metering program. Interconnection rules are favorable in Indiana, too.

And don’t forget that the federal investment tax credit, or solar tax credit, can deduct up to 26% of the cost from your taxes. Some utility providers or rural energy co-ops may have different incentives; however, the Melink team will help you navigate what is right for your business. We are the commercial solar panel installer for the Cincinnati region — and beyond!
